The UNCG Speech and Hearing Center, in operation since 1967, offers professional services for evaluation and treatment of speech, language, and hearing disorders to individuals across the lifespan. Services are open to UNCG students, faculty and staff, as well as to the community at large. Instruction is also offered to persons who are proficient in spoken English, but wish to modify foreign accents or regional dialects. The Center serves as a training facility for graduate level students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the School of Health and Human Sciences. The student clinicians work with clients under the direct supervision of UNCG faculty members who hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and North Carolina licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
The UNCG Speech and Hearing Center is located on the third floor of the Ferguson Building on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Our physical address is 524 Highland Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27412. Clinic parking is conveniently located adjacent to the Ferguson Building.
The mission of the UNCG Speech and Hearing Center is to provide prevention, evaluation, and intervention services on campus and in the community to individuals of all ages with hearing and communication disorders and differences. The Center also has a mission to provide clinical education to students and to engage in clinical research and community outreach.
The UNCG Speech and Hearing Center has nine parking spaces for clinic appointments only. These spaces are identified by signs “Reserved Parking Clinic” (see map). You must have a valid parking pass to park in these clinic parking spaces. Please request a pass in advance of your appointment or arrive early so that one may be issued to you. The circle drive is for drop offs only. Street parking along Highland Avenue may be available, but is limited to two hours and is not guaranteed.
