Chris Atkins is a nationally certified and state-licensed speech-language pathologist. He is an AP Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and is the current Director of the UNCG Speech and Hearing Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Studies from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. He received his Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology and his Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Both graduate degrees were earned at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. His primary professional interests include clinical education, dysphagia, voice, and accent modification. Dr. Atkins is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the North Carolina Association of Supervisors in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (NCASSPA), and the North Carolina Speech, Hearing and Language Association (NCSHLA).
