What is Communication Sciences And Disorders?
Communication Sciences and Disorders includes the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology. We train students for in-demand careers through academic coursework and hands-on experience in the on-campus UNCG Speech and Hearing Center.
Our academic and clinical faculty are highly sought after and cover a range of specialty areas, including stuttering, language disorders, auditory processing, cochlear implants, aphasia, school-age language disorders, and traumatic brain injury.

Bachelor of Science (B.s.)
Our Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPAU) bachelor’s degree provides a pre-professional program for those preparing for graduate study in speech-language pathology or audiology.
Master of Arts (m.a.)
Students pursuing a master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders can attend classes on-campus or online.
Doctor of philosophy (ph.D.)
Students with backgrounds in speech language pathology, audiology, or other disciplines are encouraged to explore with the faculty the new frontiers in scientific discovery that link previous academic achievement and future study.

Speech and Hearing Center now offers cochlear implant services
The Speech and Hearing Center is one of the few audiology clinics in North Carolina that provides cochlear implants. The clinic also provides auditory processing, tinnitus, sound sensitivity and misophonia services.
